Scent Work / Nose Work Odours & Supplies

Scent Work, also known as Nose Work, is rapidly gaining popularity worldwide, both as a competitive dog sport and for its therapeutic benefits.

The Australian National Kennel Club (ANKC) now holds Scent Work trials across most states in Australia, following specific rules regarding odour handling and preparation.

The odours are sourced from an ANKC-approved supplier by our supplier and are 100% pure essential oils. They provide the following scents as per ANKC guidelines:

- Clove Bud (Eugenia Carophyllata)

- Sweet Birch (Betula Lental)

- Cypress (Cupressus Sempervirens)

- Anise (Pimpinella Anisum)

Infused Cotton Buds / Q Tip Preparation

We use the ANKC-approved absorption process, ensuring each cotton bud is infused consistently with the scent.

- Odour is transferred using 2 drops of essential oil placed on a cotton ball in a 250ml glass jar containing 30 cotton buds or filters.

Note: The jars shipped are slightly smaller for ease of postage, but the cotton bud quantity and scent strength remain the same as per ANKC guidelines.

Infused Cotton Filters

Prepared similarly to our cotton buds, these natural, unrefined cotton filters offer a larger alternative. Due to their size, 15 filters are stored in each jar with 2 drops of oil.

Q Tips

Our Q tips feature paper stems and cotton buds. For Scent Work purposes, we trim the stems, providing just the infused cotton buds for easy use.

Each jar is prepared fresh to ensure the maximum potency of the scent, sealed in a colour-coordinated foil bag for freshness.

Odour Storage

It’s crucial to store odours correctly. Odours can permeate through materials, even if we can’t detect them, but your dog certainly will. We recommend storing glass jars in a sealed container, away from your dog’s reach. If you are using multiple odours, store each one in a separate location to prevent cross-contamination.
